Slate Islands & Royal Tour

On this tour we visit some fascinating sites south of Oban.


We explore the history of Oban and then move southwards past some truly magical locations. We pass by the beautiful Loch Feochan and discover the fascinating history of this stretch of water. We learn that it was the last resting place on the Royal Coffin trail. We discover the beauty of this Loch and it's connection with several films.


We travel through the area learning about the history of the Highland clearances and stop at the famous Bridge over the Atlantic, one of the most photographed bridges in Scotland. We discover the history of the bridge and the Tigh na Truish Inn, after the Jacobite era.


We also learn about recent Royal connections to the Island of Seil.


We explore the Island of Seil learning about its history and some of the fascinating residents of the island. We visit Jim in the slate islands museum and learn about this ancient and fascinating industry which was created in these islands, and its demise.

We then discover Easdale Island, virtually forgotten through time, but which now has a small thriving community,  before our return to Oban.
